Terms of Service

1. Terms
By scheduling an appointment with us, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from scheduling an appointment with us.
2. Terms of Service Modifications
Your Friendly Neighborhood Computer Guy may revise these Terms of Service at any time without notice. By scheduling an appointment with us you are agreeing to be bound by the current version of these Terms of Service.
3. Coronavirus (COVID-19) Precautions
Due to the spread of COVID-19 you must wear a mask or other mouth and nose covering during the entirety of your appointment as well as maintain a minimum distance of six feet from the technician at all times. Failure to abide by these safety standards may result in a hazard fee of $250.
4. Scheduling and Cancellations
Cancellations made 72 or more hours prior to the start of your appointment window may result in a $25 Cancellation Fee. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the start of your appointment window, as well as any missed appointments or no shows, may be billed a one hour minimum. Payments already made are non-refundable. At the time of scheduling your appointment we will attempt a pre-authorization on your card for the estimated cost of your service, as well as any requested materials, which will reserve those funds. The funds will be captured at the time of the appointment or 7 days from the date of the pre-authorization, whichever comes first. If for any reason we are unable to process the pre-authorization at the time of scheduling your appointment then we may charge your card for up to the amount for one hour of service. Changes to appointments are generally not permitted. However, at times we may be able to accommodate change requests, in these instances a fee may be imposed, this fee will not exceed the cost for one hour of service. In the event that you request a change to your appointment date and/or time and we are able to accommodate this request we will adjust the date and/or time of the appointment, however the 72 hour cancellation window will not change to reflect the new appointment date and/or time. Any cancellations will still be handled according to our standard cancellation policy in relation to the date and time of the appointment when first scheduled. Cancellations made due to a technician's late arrival will not be subject to the one hour minimum only in the event that the technician arrived more than one hour after the confirmed appointment window.
5. Pricing
Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing prior to the appointment, our services will be billed at the rate of $169/hour for residential services and $199/hour for business services. There is a one hour minimum for all appointments. Any time in addition to the first hour will be prorated. Any materials needed that have not already been paid for will be billed after the appointment.
6. Confirmation of Your Appointment
Once your appointment has been scheduled you will receive a text message and/or an email message from us including the date of your appointment as well as a request to agree to these Terms of Service. Your response of "Yes" is required to confirm your appointment. If you do not respond before your appointment time then your appointment will be automatically canceled and you may be billed a one hour minimum. If we do not receive a valid response of "Yes" from you within one hour of scheduling your appointment we may not be able to honor your original appointment date and time, in this event a new date and time may be offered to you; a cancelation of your appointment at this time is still subject to our normal cancellation policy.
7. Phone Consultations
A free phone consultation may be offered to assist you in preparing for your appointment. Having the phone consultation forfeits your rights (as oulined above in point 4) to cancel your appointment without paying a one hour minimum no matter how far in advance the appointment is cancelled.
8. Late payments
After the appointment, any balance owed will be charged to your payment method on file. If we are unable to process your payment for any reason we will contact you. If the entire balance owed is not paid in full within 24 hours of our contacting you to inform you that your billing method on file has been declined then a $10 late fee may be added to your total bill for every day that there is still a balance owed.
9. Disputes
Any issues related to your appointment must be reported to us within 72 hours of the appointment. If you contact us to dispute the work done by a tech during an appointment that took place within the last 72 hours we will offer to initiate an internal dispute on your behalf. If you choose to open a dispute we will collect information from you related to your side of the dispute including any evidence you may have. This will be reviewed and we will follow up with you on the verdict, generally within 5 business days. Due to the cost incurred and time involved in handling these disputes there may be a $25 fee for initiating a dispute that is later closed in favor of the tech. If the dispute is resolved in your favor then no such fee would be imposed.
10. Friendly Fraud
If after paying via credit or debit card you chargeback some or all of the amount billed without a valid basis to do so (Friendly fraud) this amount may be disputed and you may be billed an additional $250 fee which covers the cost and additional time involved in responding to such disputes. Should this fee also be charged back, it may also be disputed and you may be billed an additional $250 fee, this may continue to be the case for any additional transactions that are charged back without a valid basis for doing so.
11. Governing Law
Any claim relating to Your Friendly Neighborhood Computer Guy shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
